In 2016 Eclipse262728 began its adventure along the path of eclipses. This year Eclipse262728 will be the representative of Spain in Geonight 2022 as the University of Santiago de Compostela organizes a workshop on Three Consecutive Years of Eclipse Chasing in Spain for geography and tourism students. The presentation will be on April 1 at 12 noon from the University of Santiago de Compostela and in Streaming (instagram live @eclipse262728) with the rest of the world.
The international “Night of Geography“, promoted by EUGEO and IGU, will be held on April 1st 2022. The GeoNight is an initiative proposed for the first time by the CNFG (French National Geographical Committee) at a National scale in 2017. From 2018 onwards, the initiative has expanded internationally, first in Europe, thanks to EUGEO, and then even beyond, thanks to the IGU.
The main goals of GeoNight are relatively simple: one night (or evening) a year, events are organized simultaneously around the world. These events should aim to highlight geography and geographers, give the greater public a chance to familiarize themselves with geographical concepts and studies, and to make geographical research more accessible. The proposed events should, whenever possible, be free and open to the public.
